Burcon Construction designed and extensively renovated this private riverfront home.  The new homeowners’ goals included upgrading the energy efficiency of the home; removing walls and ceilings to create an open-concept contemporary design harmonious with the original features of the home and property, and substantially increasing the natural light inside the home without adding new windows or doors.  

The before and after photos showcase the fabulous transformation achieved.  Energy efficiency and fire protection were also drastically improved by upgrading the electrical panel and wiring, adding insulation to the attic, crawl space, and basement and exterior walls, replacing most electrical outlets, and installing all-new LED dimmable pot lights to the interior and exterior of the home. Burcon also completely rectified certain structural issues and exterior drainage issues which had caused water damage to the home. Today the home is very energy efficient, bright, modern and very comfortable.
